Just received an email about the honorable mention award from PX3, known as Prix de la Photographie, Paris. Although it's no big news and never expected it, but still happy to see the last minute entry got into the honorable list.These pictures were taken during the last Thaipusam, a Hindu festival celebrated by the Tamil community on the full moon in Tamil month. Devotees perform Kavadi Attam, a debt bondage dance during the ceremonial worship of Murugan, the Tamil God of War. The Kavadi range from the simplest decorated canopy supported by a wooden rod carried on the shoulders to some involve spear through face and hooks stuck into the back and pulled by another person behind, it is believe that the greater the pain the more merit from god.
